GENERAL APPRAISAL LICENSE INFORMATION
TRAINEE 75 hrs: 15-Hour Appraisal Foundation’s National USPAP course and 30 hour Appraisal Principles and 30 hour App Procedures
LICENSED APPRAISER: 150 hours of approved qualifying appraisal education courses: and 15 hr National USPAP course.
CERTIFIED RESIDENTIAL Associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university. In lieu of Associate degree, applicant shall successfully complete collegiate level subject matter courses from an accredited college, junior college, community college or university, totaling a minimum of 21 semester credit hours, 31.5 quarter hours, or 315 classroom hours.
CERTIFIED GENERAL Applicant must have Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited college or university. In lieu of the Bachelors degree, an applicant shall successfully complete collegiate level subject matter courses from an accredited college, junior college, community college or university, totaling a minimum of 30 semester credit hours, 45 quarter hours, or 450 classroom hours.
CONTINUING EDUCATION 14 Hours every year or 28 hours every 2 years. IMPORTANT: USPAP 7 hr Update (APP 201) is required every 2 years. Certified or Licensed Appraisers cannot take the 15 hr USPAP Course (APP 200) in place of the USPAP 7hr Update (APP 201) Course.
LICENSE RENEWAL Proof of completion of the 28 hours of continuing education along with renewal notice must be submitted to the Tennessee Appraiser Commission 30 days PRIOR to anniversary date of issuance date on license or certificate.
