A. Classroom Courses

1. Refunds Prior to Attending Class

If a student has prepaid for a TREES classroom course and the student wants to cancel before the first day of class, TREES will mail the student a company refund check for the total course fee less a $25 processing fee.  

2. Refund During Class, Cash Refunds

If a student attends class and desires a cash refund after attending class, the cash refund amount will be one half of the total course fee and mailed to the student by a company refund check less a $25 processing fee and less the costs of materials and books unless the books are in such condition allowing them to be reused.  The determination of book condition will be made by the student’s TREES classroom instructor. 

No cash refunds or course fee credits for one day or less classroom courses.

3. Course Credit During Class

If for some reason a student does not complete the original classroom course, the student can attend a future TREES classroom course of the same subject material in order to complete the remaining days of the course material by paying a $25 processing fee. However, the course must be completed within 6 months of beginning the classroom course.

4. Transfer to Another Course Instruction Platform

If a student wants to transfer from a classroom course to either an online or a home study course of the same subject material, the student can receive a course fee credit based on the prorated number of remaining days of the original class schedule.    

This course fee credit will be valid for 6 months from the cancellation date and the course credit must be applied to a TREES online or home study course of the same course material within the 6 months of cancelation. Please read the following paragraphs for transfer details. 

To transfer to a home study course of the same subject material, the classroom student must contact TREES by telephone at 800-572-8733 and pay a $25 processing fee. The student then will be instructed about the classroom course study materials. The student must apply the full amount of the classroom course fee credit to the home study course fee of the same subject material and pay the difference between the classroom course credit amount and home study course fee.

To transfer to a TREES online course, the classroom student must contact TREES at 800-572-8733 and pay a $25 processing fee. The student will then register for the online course of the same subject material through the TREES website, TNTREES.com, and pay the full amount of the online course fee. After verifying online course registration, TREES will mail the student a company refund check in the amount of the prorated number of remaining days of the original classroom course schedule. This option is valid for 6 months from classroom course cancellation.

No cash refunds or course fee credits for one day or less classroom courses.

B. Online Courses, RECampus

1. Refunds Prior to Class,

If a student has prepaid for a TREES online course and the student wants to cancel before beginning the online course, upon notification of this cancellation, TREES will authorize RECampus to refund the full amount of the course fee less a $25 processing fee.  

2. Refund During Class, Cash Refund

If a student begins an online course and desires a cash refund after beginning the first module of the course, the refund amount will be one half of the course fee less a $25 processing fee. Upon notification of this cancellation, TREES will authorize RECampus to refund one half the course fee less a $25 processing fee.  

No cash refunds or course credits for a 16-hour or less online course.

3. Transfer to Another Course Instruction Platform

If an online course student begins the first module of an online course and then wants to transfer from the online course into a classroom or home study course of the same subject material within 6 months from the date of beginning the online course, the student may receive a course fee credit based on the prorated number of remaining uncompleted modules of the online course.

The online student can now take a classroom course or home study course of the same subject material as the online course. The student must apply the online course fee credit mentioned above to the classroom course fee or home study course fee of the same subject material as the online course and pay the difference between either the classroom course fee or the home study course fee and the online course credit plus a $25 processing fee.

4. Time Extension Fees

Online courses are to be completed within 6 months of beginning the first module. If the course is not completed within this 6 month time period, the student can purchase a time extension in order to complete the course. The fee for a 2-month time extension is $80. For an additional 2-month time extension the fee is $80

C. Home Study/Correspondence

1. Refunds Prior to Course Shipment from TREES,

If a student has prepaid for a TREES home study course and the student wants to cancel before the course material has been shipped from Chattanooga, TREES will refund the entire course fee less a $25 processing fee.  

2. Refund During Course, Cash Refund

If a student desires a refund after receiving the course material, the refund amount will be one half of the course fee less a $25 processing fee and less the costs for books unless the books are a condition allowing them to be reused. 

No cash refunds for a 16-hour or less home study course.

3. Transfer to Another Instruction Platform or Type

Instead of a cash refund, the student may receive a course fee credit based on the prorated number of uncompleted remaining course modules of the total course modules less a $25 processing fee and less the costs for books unless the books are a condition allowing them to be reused. 

This course credit will be valid for 6 months from the cancellation date and the course credit can be applied to a TREES classroom or online course of the same subject material. 

To transfer to a TREES online course the following conditions must be completed. TREES must validate the student’s TREES online course registration. Then the student will receive a company check for the refund amount since the student must pay the full online course fee directly to the TREES online course provider, RECampus. This option is valid for 6 months from course cancellation.

No cash refunds or course fee credits for a 16-hour or less home study course.

4. Time Extension Fees

Home study courses are to be completed within 6 months. If the course is not completed with this time period, the student can purchase a time extension in order to complete the course. The fee for a 2-month time extension is $80. For an additional 2-month time extension the fee is $80.
